I had an urgent blood test on tuesday and have been told I have wait until Monday to speak to my doctor. I stated I have bever seen my allocated doctor and I did not care who I spoke to as I am worried about my results, I wanted a dane day phone call. I was then told I had to wait until friday even though my results were back. It is rediculous. I work in a doctor surgery so I know you can add calls to the duty doctors list but I was denied that and told it was not urgent enough so I have to wait until friday. Why send urgent blood results to a doctor who is not in for a week? Why deny a patient who is very worried about their blood results a same day phone call and make them wait 3 days? It is stupid. Like I stated, I work at a doctor surgery so I know calls can be added. I was and still am worried yet Im made to wait. Also when on the phone to reception, they could not get off the phone quick enough. I never treat patient like that, if one of our patients is worried abd have had urgent bloods we add a call on to the end of the duty docs surgery because we are here to help and care, not palm off our patients like you have done with me

I have been with this practice for over 25 years. During this time I have had three major surgeries (hysterectomy and two hip replacements) and I suffer from asthma. I have always been treated very well and, when suffering with an asthma attack, have always managed to get an appointment the same day. Out of hours I would go to the MIU at the hospital, a wonderful place. I have today seen Dr. Ellin for about the third time since March. She is wonderful and so thorough. I am grateful to her for listening to me and giving me advise. The nursing staff at the surgery are also wonderful. I am very happy and grateful with the treatment I receive from the doctors I have seen and feel confident they are going to look after me. It's not a negative post regarding the practice but I know my body better than anyone and, despite them being charming and kind, some of the younger doctors don't seem to take this on board. I have only encountered this a couple of times a number of years ago and it's certainly not a complaint............probably due to the doctors concerned being young and less experienced. For example: I get a heavy cold, go to the doctor for steroids and antibiotics because I know it will go to my chest. When I see the doctor, he says "your chest is OK at the moment but come back if it gets any worse". It always does and consequently I need another appointment. Like I said, this was a number of years ago. In recent years I have been listened to. Special thanks to Dr. Sharpe, Dr. Walker and the wonderful Dr. Ellin.

I find it better to be able to book your appointments online, especially if it is not an emergency one. You can work it into your lifestyle. You don't have to wait what seems like an age for someone to answer the phone especially after listening to the information before you get through to someone. Obviously this isn't the case if you need to see/speak to someone on the day.

Starting to be very disappointed with level of service from GP. My mother is elderly and as been very poorly since before Christmas. Last week was told during an appointment with GP that he would organise a chest x ray, which was much needed as she suffers from chronic chest infection. Week later still no news as to an appointment. When phoning surgery to ask - was told that there was no mention of an x ray on my mothers notes !!! This really isn't good enough - patients shouldn't have to chase up appointments that GP's are organising - and notes should include all details of consultations.
